Shimshal is a village located in Gojal Tehsil of Hunza District, in the Gilgit–Baltistan region of Pakistan. It lies at an altitude of 3,100 m above sea level and is the highest settlement in the district. It is the largest valley in Gilgit-Baltistan and it covers almost area of Hunza District.

It is often said that a rough road leads to the height of greatness. This journey is planned particularly for off-road lovers; who really like outdoor adventure. The wonders of Shimshal Valley must be seen after riding on one of the world’s dangerous and technical roads. This is the place where you can experience the best 50 km of off-roading through the rocky and lofty mountains. Particularly, Shimshal is known for the well-known mountaineers it has produced.

Itinerary

Day 1

– Arrive and transfer to hotel.

Day 2

– After breakfast, ride towards Naran via GT road, to Abbottabad, Mansehra.

– Several photo and rest stops on the way.

– Lunch will be served on the way in a local restaurant.

– Continue riding towards destination. (If time permits off-roading to Lake Saif-ul- Malook — only 9 km one way from Naran)

– Arrival and transfer to the hotel for the dinner and overnight.

Day 3

– After breakfast ride to Hunza over famous Babusar Pass 4100m.

– After crossing the pass we will go downwards to Babusar valley, where all of a sudden temperature gets changed.

– Arrive at Karakoram Highway and continue riding to Hunza over Karakoram Highway.

– Hot lunch will be served on the way at a local restaurant.

– Several stops for photo and rest.

– Arrive at Hunza and transfer to hotel for the dinner and overnight.

Day 4

– After an early breakfast, ride towards world’s famous Khunjerab Pass 4600m.

– If lucky enough, possibility of sighting of wildlife i.e, Golden Marmot, Lynx, Ibex.

– Several stops for rest and photos, on the way.

– Pack lunch will be served today.

– Arrival to Passu and transfer to hotel for the dinner and overnight.

Day 5

– After breakfast, ride towards Shimshal valley — best 50-60 km off-roading.

– Arrival and transfer to a local style Guest house.

– Lunch, provided at the hotel.

– Later, off-road towards Yazgil Glacier.

– Back to the town for the dinner and overnight.

Day 6

– After breakfast, ride towards Gilgit —capital city of Gilgit Baltistan region.

– Hot and delicious lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

– Continue riding towards Gilgit; several stops for photo and rest.

– Arrival and transfer to hotel for the dinner and overnight.

Day 7

– After an early breakfast, ride towards Besham over the Karakoram Highway.

– Hot lunch will be provided on the way.

– Several photos/rest stops will be provided.

– Continue to Besham.

– Arrive and transfer to the hotel for the dinner and overnight.

Day 8

– After breakfast, ride towards Islamabad via Nathia Gali.

– Several photo and rest stops on the way.

– Lunch will be served on the way.

– Arrival and transfer to the hotel for the dinner and overnight.

Day 9

– Transfer to airport.

– End of our services.
